The State of Maine has about 2000 acres of property known as the Riverlands located along the Androscoggin River. The Homestead Trail . "A pleasant walk along one of this area's greatest natural resources" as described in the brochure available from The Androscoggin Land Trust. PO Box 3145, Auburn ME 04212 (207) 782-2302 is one small part of the adventure. Farmstead foundations from 1873 home places can be seen. Giving the hiker an image from the past.

 

The Androscoggin Riverlands in Turner, Maine also has a 15 mile string of multi use trails for hiking, horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, ATVing. Maps of the trail system can be obtained from the Department of Conservation in Augusta, Maine

Check the State of Maine All-Terrain Vehicle Laws and Rules for closed use dates on these trails. Always remeber to request landowner permission before engaging in any outdoor activity on land you do not own or have the authority to use. Join an ATV  club - learn more about proper use of all trails available for you to enjoy.

The Corn Shop Trail

The Town of Turner maintains a small trail along Martin Stream off Mill Hill Road.

Children will enjoy this shot walk in the woods.

The stream is also a great spot to fish.

Plant study and bird watching are just a few things to do there.
