911 Addressing Number

Town of Turner's Addressing Ordinance adopted April 13, 1996

In order to enhance the easy and rapid locating of property by law enforcement , fire, rescue, and emergency medical service personnel, your assigned number must be on the front of your residence or structure near the front door or entry. If the residence is more than 50 feet from the road then the assigned number shall be on a post, fence, wall, mail box or on some other structure at the property line next to the walk or access drive to the residence or structure.

SIZE AND COLOR OF NUMBER: Numbers shall be located as to be visible from the road and shall be a minimum of four (4) inches tall and should be in a color contrasting to the color of the main structure or object to which it is attached.

Any person in violation of this Ordinance shall be penalized in accordance with Title 30-A Section 4452. The minimum penalty for a specific violation is $100, and the maximum penalty is $2500, monetary penalties may be assessed on a per-day basis and are civil penalties.

 

If you do not have your 911 numbers on your building or residence as described above please do so as soon as possible.

 

NOTICE

To Turner Residents: All dog licenses expired December 31, 2010. If you have not already done so, it is time to re-license your dog. During the month of January, 2011, the State will waive the late fee. But, if you wait until February 1, 2011, there will be a $25 late fee added to each late dog that is licensed.  

When you come to the Town Office to license your dog, you need to bring a valid rabies certificate.

Motor Vehicle Registration NEWS:

The staff at the Town Office has moved up to a higher level of service.

We are able to validate truck registrations of more than 9000 pounds gross weight. We are a Partner with Informe

and joined the list of municipalities around the State of Maine offering online motor vehicle renewal registrations.
